USAF Thunderbird Crash

On 14 September, 2003 one of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Aerial Demonstration Squadron crashed to the ground and exploded during a maneuver at "Gunfighter Skies", Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, USA. The pilot of Thunderbird 6 (Opposing Soloist), Capt. Chris Stricklin, ejected just seconds before the crash, and survived with only minor injuries.
